A life in Balance (Free Training)

Building Balance_Gold Styling_600px

I’ve been thinking about, dreaming about and preparing for this webinar for over a year.

This training is the most personal of all the trainings I’ve ever offered and I believe it’s possibly the most important one too. On Friday I’m going to openly share what I’ve learned so far about building balance and living the life you imagine.

Life is meant to be enjoyed. Not to be so busy that you miss it. Not to be so overwhelmed that the flowers loose their charm. Not to be so rushed that the moments are never had.

Balance is a journey that is possible and I’m excited to share my journey with you.

Photography 101 Class in Portland, OR.

Even though my college professor did explain how and why the camera works, I’m still sticking to my own theory… It’s magic!   The idea, that a single moment can be stopped and preserved so that the substance of that moment will never be lost – is magical.

Our families our are greatest treasures… To be able to capture the moments that makeup our lives so that we can someday stitch the imagery together and tell our story is amazing to me! That’s why in addition to capturing those moments for my clients and their families, I think it’s also really fun to teach mommy’s how to get happier with their own snaps.

I thought I’d share some behind the scenes from my last SNAP HAPPY GIRL’S NIGHT hosted by Evelyn (see her cute son here).

We had so much fun!  There was delicious food, fun conversation… Oh! And a lot of talk about photography! :)

Thank you for the wonderful night ladies… It was a pleasure.

Want to be taught?  If you’re a client of mine or a mommy in the Seattle/Portland area interested in taking or hosting a SNAP HAPPY class just click ‘contact the studio’ (in the menu bar) or leave a comment to get more information.

Want to teach this class?  If you’re a professional photographer interested in teaching your own photography 101 class – I have made my full course available in the Go4Pro Photos Shop.

The VFM March Cover

Vancouver Family Magazine

As always it is such an honor to have one of my images on the cover of a magazine! I was thrilled when VFM contacted me last month about using this image! Now that it’s available, I’m tickled to share the March cover of Vancouver Family Magazine with all of you!

About the image: It was one of the last days of summer and I got to enjoy it with this positively glowing mommy-to-be. It’s obvious that pregnancy is stunning on Shawna what you may not know is that she was also the picture of calmness and inner beauty as well! We decided to start our session outside and work our way into the studio. This is actually one of our first images of the day. A few weeks later, Shawna gave birth to a very healthy and handsome little man name Cedar!

Developing Your Brand Webinar

My lovely friend Kelli France of France Photography in Colorado is creating an awesome line up of educational business boosting webinars for photographers. When Kelli called me and asked if I would be willing to teach one, of course I had to say yes. I love to talk too much to say no!

Seriously though, I said yes because not only do I love to talk but I also love to share what I know. Most of you know that along with my photography studio I am also the founder and writer of Go{4}Pro, a website that is dedicated to educating and inspiring photographer to reach their true business potential. Well, in line with that and my logo and brand design work, I’m going to be teaching about Brand Development. I’m really excited. It’s been 6 months since I taught my Seattle workshop and although I get to share and teach on Go{4}Pro all the time, I’m looking forward to the more intimate setting!

During the webinar, I’m going to share examples of logos and brands and walk you through exactly what message they are sending. I’m going to teach you how to see as your potential client will see when developing or updating your look, feel, and BRAND of your business. We will discuss how to stay true to your personality and work while creating a look that will put clients at ease and give them the message you need to send… Last, I’ll break down the top 10 rules according to me — 7 keys to having a fabulous brand that clients are dying to talk about and the 3 absolute brand killers.

So when is this awesome webinar you ask? Tuesday – March 1st.

8PM – 9PM – Eastern

7PM – 8PM – Central

6PM – 7PM – Mountain

5PM – 6PM – Pacific

Webinar tuition will be an introductory price of $15. Webinars are limited to only 89 attendees so if you are interested, you will want to sign up for your spot soon!

On the Cover of Vancouver Family Magazine

I remember when I was first starting my photography business thinking to myself, how amazing would it be to have one of my pictures in a magazine?!? I mean that would pretty much just say, ‘Leah. You are cool and not just because you say so!’ Well I can’t say I feel any cooler but I do feel very honored to be the photographer for the September Cover of Vancouver Family Magazine! I can’t even explain how exciting it feels to see my work on the the cover of a magazine! Of course beautiful little Serenity does make a gorgeous cover model, doesn’t she?! I’m excited it’s her on the cover because her mama was telling me just a while back that she thinks she’d be such a great little model. How much fun will this be for the keepsake box? And, I have no idea what I did that was so shocking to have conjured up this adorable expression but if I have to act like a monkey or a hippo or a ant eater to get my little clients to give me faces like this… I gladly will (and do)! Doesn’t she look like she’s saying, ‘Oh! that was just not good!’ ?

VFM is an awesome little community magazine that keeps us all up to date on the latest happening and they have a great calender that I love to refer to for fun stuff to do with the kids! You can find your copy all over the city!
