DIY Gold Gumball Machine

chic Gold glitter Gum ball Machine
There are a few items from my office makeover that have received an extra amount of attention, one of which has been my gold gumball machine!

This project was really easy and that’s coming from someone who is rarely willing to do the work a DIY project requires. I’m that person who just buys it, rather then try to tackle it myself (Etsy loves me!!), but since I was having trouble finding a gold gumball machine and it seemed so obvious that my new office just had to have one, I got to work.

I found a used gumball machine at Rusty Glamour, one of my favorite little shops in Battle Ground, WA. while staying the weekend with friends. (Miss you Ev!)

The project didn’t take much, was fast and even I managed to finish it! Supply list is below and full detailed (with photographs) instructions can be found here!

Painters Tape
Gold Spray Paint (I used Krylon Gold Interior/Exterior Aerosol Paint – see here)
Gumball Machine (I found a used machine at a thrift store)

Inside my Camera Bag

Inside Leah Remillet's Camera Bag

So many people asked about my camera bag when I shared it on Instagram that I thought I’d do a full post about it here! So here’s the answer to the big question… Who is my camera bag from? Actually, I’m using the ONA Roma Camera Bag Insert (full list with links is below) to turn any bag into my camera bag – so my bag technically isn’t a camera bag. And question #2, thanks for loving my strap as much as I do! It’s a Nicole Berlowski Sequin Camera Strap!

The full GEAR list:
ONA Roma Camera Bag Insert turns any bag into a camera bag!
Nicole Berlowski Sequin Camera Strap
Interfit 5 in 1 Reflector

Canon 5D Mark III
Canon 24-70mm  f/2.8L Lens
Canon 50mm f/1.4

Inside my bag, I also have:

Business Cards (designed by Laura Kathryn)
Valentina Handbag (here’s one I found on ebay)
Kate Spade Sunglasses
Pez Candies (trimmed to fit my hot-shoe mount)
Lip Gloss
Lot’s of memory cards
Hand Sanitizer
iPhone (with the Be Dazzling Kate Spade Case)

And that’s it! I think I actually travel pretty light! If you have any questions, just post a comment and I’ll try to answer them!

…Give me the streets of Manhattan!

Dear New York,

Hello. I’ll try my hardest not to sing my introduction to you so as not to embarrass you but I’m just so excited and well, usually when I’m excited – I can’t help but sing. There is so much about you that I can’t wait to get to know. Our time together is very limited, only 3 days of my trip, but I am going to try to absorb all that you are in as intense of manner as I possibly can.

You offer so much to see, so much to do, so much to experience. It’s hard to know where to even begin, but can I be honest with you? From one city girl to the city girl… I planned my must see list based on reels playing in my mind from the silver screen. All of those fabulous flicks based around magnificent you… to finally meet you makes me feel like I’m meeting a hero. The great and wonderful New York City, where everything is possible! I feel the same way toward life and that’s why I know we’re going to be great friends.

So thank you so much for having me!

Product Crush: Hand Stamped Custom Cuff Bracelets

I wear my bracelet almost every day…. It has extra special meaning to me.  Not just because of those words but because of the women all over the country that wear theres too.

I had this bracelet made by Tatum Bradley & Co. as a special reminder for all of the incredible woman who attend my Mastermind Photography Retreats.  There’s just one difference in mine. My personal bracelet doesn’t say, ‘Love, Leah’ on the inside, it has my personal mantra; ‘Boldly Inspire’.

This life is for Thriving!  I believe those words with my whole heart.  We have one chance to truly experience all that we are meant to…  To love, to serve, to care, to give, to hurt, to hope and to see dreams come true.

I know what’s possible.  I know what the world wants to say you should expect out of life and I know what life can truly be!

That’s why I teach.  I want to prove to as many photographers as I can what’s really possible.  Most of my work happens virtually…

But lately, I’ve been teaching LIVE!  I love it! Getting to spend time (in real life) with the amazing photographers that I coach is one of my most favorite things!  My most recent were  in Florida in April, Seattle in June and I’ll have one more in Washington, D.C. in August.

I have special little gifts that I present to my attendees through out the 3 day experience.  This is my favorite one. I think it might be my attendees favorite as well?!  One of my Thriver’s even showed off her bracelet in Rome!

This hand stamped bracelet was custom designed for me by Natalie over at Tatum Bradley & Co.

I love her work!  Natalie hand stamps every single cuff bracelet and will create any custom saying you want. Favorite quote? Inside joke?  Uber Hunger Games Fan? You got it!

And that’s my product crush!  I love them so much that I just had to share!

H5O Bistro & Pedicures

First… I have to ask you to excuse the iPhone snapshots! Okay. Now that we have that out of the way and  you’re not judging me on the photography skills on display, lets get down to the date night details!

Taylor and I love our date nights and we go out almost every week! In fact, we love our date nights so much that out date night budget, exceeds our food budget! LOL

So last Friday I was feeling overwhelmed and frustrated after a long and stressful week! Taylor came into my office while home for lunch and (here’s what I love about this man!) could immediately sense that it wasn’t proving to be a great day and became determined to make it better! Here was the conversation:

Him:  Well do we have a sitter for tonight?

Me (acting very petulant):  I haven’t gotten a sitter

Him: Okay. Why don’t you see if you can get one someone?

Me (still sulking): I don’t want to get a sitter and then sit around deciding what to do

Him (looking me over and realizing it’s going to take a lot to turn my mood around):  What if we went out to dinner and maybe did something like go get pedicures?

Me (trying to suppress that he really is turning my mood around): That could be fun…

And it was! I can’t remember when I’ve had such a fun date night!  We went and got pedicures (which seriously, how much does he love me??), it was so cute seeing him watching ESPN on his iPhone as he got his toes buffed. :)  After our foot massages and pedicures we went out to H50 Bistro for dinner, which was really yummy! And I love the way they plated everything! The iPhone really doesn’t do it justice.
